PICS FROM MY NIXXY SWAP

Thought I would show you all some swatches from my recent swap with Nixxy.

BYS - FERN
Ohlala this color is pretty, isn't it? It is sort of an army type green with subtle, silver shimmer.

BYS - SPARKLE NIGHT
This is such an unusual nail polish. Everything about it is so different from the norm. The base color is sort of a dark, dirty gold color. Then it has tons of gold micro glitter, with larger, round pieces of copper glitter, and then rainbow holo bar glitter! This polish is "da bomb" :)

CLASSICS - NO NAME
Didn't find a name on this one. But it's glitter - so who cares?? This is a pretty cool one, tons of different colored glitter. You mostly see hot pink, but there is also dark blue, red, green, yellow! Very sparkly!

BLOOM - JESSICA MAUBOY I
Another ohlala color. A very sexy red.

CHINA GLAZE - BLUE SPARROW
I meant to post up the swatch of this one before my NOTD yesterday, but I didn't. Whoops!! Anyway, since I took the pics I figured I may as well post them!

I tried to take pics with just the dining room light on and it was too dark, but look how pretty the blue looks!! I love the color in the two bottom pics.

TOTALLY NAIL RELATED

Totally Dog nail related, lol.

I soooo need to teach Dinky to do this! hahaha!!! I love this video, especially at the end when he really taps it out! :) Enjoy!

FUN W/ CHINA GLAZE SPELLBOUND

By now you have all seen swatches of China Glaze Spellbound, and seen it layered over black and white. SO last night I thought I would layer it over some colors that wouldn't be your normal first choices like black or white.

I decided I would use an orange, a purple and a red. All are still Halloween colors, so I thought they might still work well together. It just dawned on me that I should have used green - d'oh! I will try that one tonight and get swatches of that up tomorrow for you all.

ChG-Spellbound, Orly-Orange Punch, Nina-Purple-Xing, ChG-Power of Red

I think I liked the Orange and Red combo the best. The purple just fell flat to me. Besides green, do you have any other requests of something you would like to see Spellbound layered over??

DISCONTINUED CHINA GLAZES

Yesterday I showed you all the discontinued China Glazes that I was going to have swatched for you today, and here they are! I know some of you commented on certain colors that you liked or wanted, well I have good news! These are all still available (as of now) for purchase from Victoria's Nail Supply. These are on a while supply lasts, so when they are sold out they are sold out. I found these on the website here.

This was my second order placed with VNS and it arrived very prompt. I made the order last Thursday night and was even emailed a UPS tracking number that same night!! OF course the order didn't ship until Friday, but I was amazed that they were on top of orders that quick and at night. My order was delivered Tuesday. If you haven't placed an order with VNS I would suggest you give them a try, I was super pleased and will use them again in the future.

Ok, now on the swatches!

TARNISHED & VARNISHED - 3 coats
Super pretty! Plus I love the name. This looks like it is glass flecked and it just sparkles. VNS lists this as Tarnished and Garnished, it is just a misprint.

TEQUILA TOES - 3 coats
LOL at the name. This looked really similar to Tarnished & Varnished, this one being a little more on the coral side. It appears to be glass flecked too.

MARTINI LUNCH - 3 coats
Another one that looks glass flecked. I wish this was just a hair darker, but it is still pretty.

SHY - 3 coats
This one is just a really delicate pink shimmer polish.

PINK-ROX-E - 3 Coats
Oooooh weeee this is pretty! A salmon pink base with tons of gold shimmer. I just loved everything about this polish!

BALI BLIS - 3 coats
This polish has little tiny pink flecks to it, not sure, but it could be micro glitter. I really liked this a base for a funky french or to konad with bright colors over.

LUSH LAVENDER - 2 coats
Ohhh, I'm glad I got this one. I think this is a pretty unique color and unlike any that I have at least. Plus this was only two coats, so it was pretty opaque which I wasn't expecting for such a light color. I don't see anything lavender about it though, so the name is a little off putting. Can you see that strong, bright pink shimmer it has? Also, look how old the bottle is!

WHIMSICAL - 3 coats
This one was a little bit of a disappointment. I don't like this color and I really don't like it on me. I am not a fan of pearly finishes and this one sort of has that. It does flash a greenish gold color, but it just isn't my style.

I'M NOT BITTER - 2 coats
For all my red fans out there, you will love this!! Hands down one of the best reds I have. It is so pretty and dark and bright at the same time. LOVES IT!

RAPTURE - 3 coats
This is a dark pinkish red with micro holo? glitter in it. Really pretty. The glitter doesn't show up as much on the nail as it looks in the bottle. I love this color anyway though.

ON THE PROWL - 3 coats
Even with three coats I can see some bald spots, so it was a little tempermental as far as application goes. Color wise - drop dead gorgeous purple!

PIN PRICK - 3
This is a red with very fine gold shimmer to it. A nice red, but nothing like I'm Not Bitter.

VAMPY - 3 coats
Very pretty, reminds me of the type of colors I used to buy all the time and wear. Nothing just real unique about it, but still pretty none the less.
Ok, so there you go. Did you see anything you just have to have??

WHAT WILL BE SWATCHED NEXT & ORLY ANSWER

First up, for AWESOME VEGAN, I did get a response back from Orly as to whether or not they are vegan. No they are not, but said their sister company Sparitual was - which you already knew. Hope this info helps!

Now, here is what I have in the works for some upcoming swatches. I have something OLD and something NEW.

First: THE NEW
Diamond Cosmetics Winter 09 Collection

Diamond Cosmetics Matte Collection

AND THE OLD:
All China Glazes, that I believe are discontinued colors.

Tequila Toes, Martini Lunch, Pink-Rox-E, Shy, Bali Bliss, Lush Lavender

Whimsical, Rapture, Pin Prick, I'm Not Bitter, Vampy, On the Prowl

Tarnished & Varnished

NOTD - BLUE SPARROW W/ A HINT OF KONAD

Last night I did some swatching of the new polishes I got from my swap with Nixxy. As soon as I put on China Glaze Blue Sparrow I knew my swatching for the night had come to an end, and I was keeping it on my nails. I will put up all my swatches I did last night a little later. But for now, feast your eyes on this mani:

I just love doing the tone on tone with konad, especially over such a strong base color that has something going on like glitter or shimmer. By using a blue to konad with I think it still lets the pretty Blue Sparrow show and the konad just accents instead of dominates the mani. This blue sally hansen is the BEST blue to konad with, I dont' know what I will do when my bottle is all gone.
